Cash Management - posting of cash, reconciliations, dealing with queries. Currently have a project on-going regarding missing cash from cheques paid to us. Use of two systems
Working towards AAT level 3, attended personal development courses, presentation courses and learnt how to use new systems, more decisive and better communication skills.
Really friendly work colleagues, and helpful when needed. HPC culture means everyone's focussed on one set of values. Enjoy work, exceeds expectations.
Appreciated by manager and team leaders but sometimes feel as though could be given a greater work load or allowed to partake in a wider variety of jobs.
Induction from Head of Service Centre, rotational placements over the four years to give breadth of job roles and responsibilities, although ADL not involved much as separate location and sector.
Support there if needed when at college but if out of college and need support, response can be slow. Website for training provider is good though and has a lot of resources.
Support available from manager if needed, a lot comes from other apprentices who are going/have been through the scheme. Use of buddies at start of role a good idea although don't use much. Know where support is for HR issues if needed and support always available from team
Live at home so salary meets costs quite comfortable. Don't live far from the office so travel costs are minimal although a lot spent on social costs for events etc.
Often events outside of work which tend to be organised by others on the apprentice scheme. Most events though not organised by apprentice's are usually charity events. Sports clubs available due to size of business and through the people in your teams ie. 5-a-side football.
Yes
Brilliant company to work who are ever expanding due to it's ambitious nature. Opportunities to progress are widely available and many different job roles can be done in the same business. Support network is great and the apprentice scheme has a high success rate. People are really friendly and want to help you to help yourself improve.
Take your time on the application process as this is possibly the most difficult bit to pass. Do research into the company and make sure you have a basic understanding of what the company does/produces etc. At interview and anytime afterwards, be yourself because you have potential to work here for a long time. But put yourself out there a little bit to make sure that at the assessment day, the assessors know what you're all about and have to offer.
