Global freight apprentice Checking the new orders that have come in over night. Organising the collection and delivery of these from airport > warehouse. Checking orders look correct and if not query them Speak to all management daily. This is so that I do a handover and that way they are informed with how the day has gone and can take issues further if there are any. I speak to customers on a daily basis. This could be over the phone or by email depending on the urgency. To send out documents showing all deliveries for the day and forthcoming week.
Working towards a Level 3 logistics qualification Been put forward for a fie warden course I have learnt to stay calm in work and that every situation can be worked out
The work is good and there is always something different from the previous day. Everyone here is very friendly and there isn't a person that I can't speak to Exceeded my expectations because I didn't think I would be given this much independence and work
When you do something well you get enough recognition A customer can be happy with the job that you have done so their feedback is the most important. They will always tell you if they are happy
The induction is very well organised. You have a week to see all aspects of the business and meet other apprentices The training is okay. The trainers just know their job, don't always have the most patience The studying is hard, when you don't understand something, it doesn't get explained to you and this is where I have fallen short
Currently none
Will always offer me a solution for a problem and how to do it. Will also ask how I am getting on and available for meetings if need be
I live quite far away so am spending a lot in fuel
There are a few events and we are always invited to them. Christmas parties, team building days, mentor events
Yes
Its a really good company to work for and the things that you learn can be taken with you everywhere. The staff here are all helpful and friendly as well and it is not a scary start in the workplace
Just be yourself. Don't be scared by anybody at the company when interviewing because they are all really friendly. I would have liked to get more information on the daily tasks when I applied and even when I started people didn't explain very much. Enjoy the assessment day and just relax
