Supply Chain Management Apprenticeship - 6 different roles over 3 years. Role at the moment involves managing external suppliers and deliveries. Other roles in the future involve logistics project, supply chain design, forecasting etc.
Developed people skills. Met and dealt with many different people of all different levels in the company. Builds confidence.
I enjoy working within large teams and gaining experience in all different functions over the supply chain. Culture in the company is good. Higher than my expectations.
Feel very valued by Rolls-Royce as an apprentice. Many people are open to and encourage new ideas from apprentices whilst also trying to challenge you to get the best from you. A lot of recognition and involvement from teams, whilst also being given responsibility.
Well organised, structure is good. Set placements over 3 years and we have a clear plan at the start of the 3 years as to which areas of the supply chain we will be based in. Study at university over the 3 years so we also have a mentor at university to help with studies.
Have an apprentice mentor for advice/support as and when needed. Also get a lot of support from other apprentices who are in their second/third year.
A lot of support from Rolls-Royce as an apprentice. There are people in my team I can talk to as well as an apprentice mentor.
Still live at home while studying so salary is enough for living and travel costs, as well as social costs.
AGA (Apprentice and Graduate Association) hold events outside of work so that apprentices can socialise.
