I support the relationship managers in my team submit their deals to pay out. I look after 15 Relationship manager's in a support team of 4. We work out of an inbox and have differing tasks every day such as requesting valuations on assets. I complete Anti Money Laundering checks on our customers regularly..
I have completed a qualification in Banking. And attended many online courses such as Accountancy. I have regular internal training. I have attended a training course on the department where I work and received a certificate in that also.
I enjoy my apprenticeship as everyday there is something different or new to learn. I travel to different offices and work with colleagues all over the South West Region. My team is very friendly and are willing to help you out with any questions whilst I continue to learn.
My line manager and colleagues continue to provide me support whilst I complete my apprenticeship. I have received recognition awards from colleagues in other departments after being an ambassador for the apprenticeship scheme in Oxford. My tutor continues to tell me how well I am progressing with my studies also.
I have designated time throughout the working week to complete my studying. I was provided with all of the training material ahead of the course starting. My line manager and tutor provide me lots of support. At first there wasn't much work for me to do but as the job has progressed I have picked up lots more work and been on many training courses. There could have been more planning at the beginning.
My training provider and I talk once a month, and she is happy for me to pick up with her before this time if I need too. She gives feedback within an appropriate amount of time for me to make adjustments. I know that I can call if I have any questions. I find some course pieces harder than others, and think some are very similar to each other.
My line manager and colleagues are all very supportive. They answer any questions I have. Will sit down with me and provide any training if I have not done anything before. We have an internal mentor system if I want to sign up and receive support from a colleague in a different team.
I am paid well. I don't have to pay for any travel if I go to different offices the company pays for me. We pay as a team for any social activities outside of work.
I have attended many networking sessions, volunteered for the community twice in recent months. Spent time developing myself with courses and events I have thought appropriate. I have been involved in the internal get active club, encouraging employees to get moving / walking.
Yes
I have received lots of support, enjoy the varying role of the job, am paid well whilst still learning. Am starting my career from the get go with many different departments and places to move into. I have already gained a banking qualification and can apply to study others if I want too
I would have like to have been told which section of RBS I was working as prior to the interview I did not know. I would suggest applicants research the many brands of RBS and ask the interviewer before hand if they have been in contact. There are 3 application stages, application, telephone interview, face to face interview. I found these okay and not that intimidating looking back. But make sure you are prepared;
