  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently a Customer Advisor, this role involves face to face interation with cutomers on a daily basis. This may be on the counter completing transactions such as withdrawals or deposits. I am also based int eh abnking hall most of the time, thi can involve using an Ipad o complete transactions, allow customers to log in their online banking etc, I also service longer requests on the computer such as CHAPS payments, Booking appointments. Within my role I also carry out risk tests/assesments and manage the marketing, this is not a requirment of the role I am in, I do this to challenge myself and enjoy responsibility.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst at Halifax I have learnt how a bank runs on a day to day basis as you dont always see it when you come in as a customer. I have developed my customer service skills as I had already gained them previously. I have developed knowledge of risk tests and branch controls, however this is not part of my daily role I have requested to do this.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have not been very involved with the programme as I have had several learning mentors, I completed work booklets to be then told I had to start new ones as my learning mentor's had left the company. I have sent booklets off to be marked to a manager as requested by them to not recieveing them back. I am now on my fourth learning mentor who has contacted me once about the programme. I should have finished this programme in august 2016, I have completed many workbooks and spoke to over 5 people about my programme being complete. Each time I am told a different time scale or thgat I have to start from scratch again.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Lloyds Banking Group?
  • Since working for LGB I have been progressed quickly as my managers can see I would like to move up and not stay in the same positions, I show I have aspirations and I beleive that is why my managers support what I would like to do with LBG. However there is little value in team work within the branch.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My Programme has little organisation or structure. I started this programme in August 2015 and should have finished a year later, I have had several mentor's who I am generally in contact with once then I get informed they have left the company and I have to start the programme all again. I have completed several versions on booklets as I had to start it again. I was given the option to start my programme again or leave as I have been messed around. I have chosen to carry on the programme; I now have a new mentor who I have been in contact with once, I have been waiting again for contact of my mentor to tell me my next steps as I beleive I will have to start all over again as the booklets I completed months ago will be out of date.
