I am a commercial apprentice so the nature of the scheme is that i experience 6 months in the 4 key functions: HR, Sales, Marketing and HR. This means that i get to work across the office and learn about all the roles and how they interact.
There are a huge amount of courses and trainings that i have been a part of as well skills that i have learned day to day e.g. teamwork, communication, presenting. all have helped to boost my confidence.
The program has given me a huge amount of confident in the amazing opportunities i have had to stretch and take on bigger responsibilities. Everyone is hugely supportive in regards to me learning new roles frequently.
Given the amount of investment and training that Nestle has put into me i truly feel that i am valued and that i will get the opportunities to become a "future leader" which is the aim of the program.
Given that the program is relatively new, I think that it is very well structured. There is good communication on the whole between Nestle and our training provider.
We are only at university for a week every 6 weeks but our lecturers are available to us over those weeks via email if we need them.
This can be very dependent of the line managers and teams but so far i have only have really supportive collegues around me which is great. Like any job though this can vary.
I am able to live comfortably away from home.
York, where my job is based, has lots going on often and given that there are lots of young people on various courses there are lots of people my own age to socialise with.
Yes
Great job opportunities to progression and travel. Feel that the culture also matches my own beliefs.
Be genuine and ensure that you have lots of extra things other than just school such as hobbies and volunteering to speak about during interview. Get across your enthusiasm and do some research into the company.
