Work as part of an allocated team assisting them on whatever projects they're currently on. Attending external and internal client meetings with them. Working on proposals for clients and pitches.
Learned professional Excel skills which is very important in the working world. Developed how to communicate internally and externally with clients and the key difference in approach.
I throughly enjoyed the programme its structured very well in that participants are given base knowledge and it is expanded upon as the weeks go on. Also team members are happy to stay in touch past the programme end date to help you make career decisions and mentor.
EY values all employees equally whether it be the partners or the junior interns and assistance was offered should we need it to understand the work or just other aspects.
The programme is organised is that you have training for 2 days and laptop set up so you know how to use everything and learn about the firm's so you have a strong foundation to build upon and ask questions in your team. There were networking breakfasts with partners organised and other activities as such with senior members of the firm.
Enough to get you started and if questions arise later they were happy to help.
There was alot of training material online that I didn't get through it all because I became busy with project's but it was all there should people feel as though they learn better through textbook learning.
I feel as though the salary covered my costs of travel and accommodation and the occasional treat lunch. It is a competitive salary.
I believe there are different networks within the company however since I was only there for 4 weeks I did not have the time to fully explore those options but had I had more time I would have definitely explored them and gone along to different events.
Yes
Because they are a strong and reliable employer, very well known in their field and the work was stimulating with supporting staff for someone who's just starting out in the work place.
Research about the Firm's core values and their vision into the future. Also have a rough idea about how the firm is structured within the different service lines.
