Craftsperson I maintain the substation carrying out maintenance on equipment and testing it to make sure it all runs correctly. I work within a team of around 15 people all who have similar roles to what I have to do.
I am gaining many qualifications through the apprenticeship including BESC and city and guilds qualification. I have also learnt many valuble work and hand skills during my apprenticeship.
the company is a great company to work for and so is the team that Im in. I enjoy the work and find it very satisfying completing a job
I feel valued as everyone tries to involve me in things to help me to learn more. there is lots of feedback from my manager and others.
it is very well organized and structured as we have a timetable set out for a year in advance
I receive a good amount of support from the training as the trainers are all very knowledgeable
there is a lot of support from the employer and it is made very clear if I need any help with things
the salary is highly above average for an apprentice and with everything paid for when staying away as well as travel paid for it makes money go a lot further
there is always emails that are sent out that can provide other events and charity work
Yes
it is one of the best apprenticeships you can get and it can be a job for life
the supplication and interview process is tough so make sure that everything you do during the process is to the best of your ability.
