My role varies depending on staffing and what day it is, I'm at a sub branch which is open two days a week where there is a closed counter and I usually do the bullion run there and balance the ATM once a week and load it. But in both branches I would usually serve customers either at the counter or on the IPAd either changing their address, ordering bank statements and any servicing or enquiries
I've learnt many new things and I feel like my maths and calculating has also inproved, I've become more confident in myself and feel more positive about work life and have learnt various facts and rules out different financial service sectors, I feel it has helped me manage my account better too
I enjoy my programme depending on the topics although it can be quite stressful with deadlines and workload as it is hard to get time to do it at work
It's a tough question to answer as I feel valued but not as much as other members of staff are in more senior roles. It's as if staff working in head office at Canary Wharf have more benefits and value then counter and branch staff do is
The programme structure is very good I like how there are specific dates for everything and we have to meet deadline which will encourage you to work hard and stay on track, everything that needs to be done as when it will be done is clear so i think it's good
I receive a lot of support from my talent coach and he will even help us on weekends, I'm very grateful to be blessed with him as my assessor as he is almost like a mentor for me and it is very beneficial for my work too
I receive support from my managers time to time however sometimes I feel like you can't always get the help you need due to workload as staffing however they will try to help if I asked
I think it's quite good so far, however I know that after I want to do a higher/graduate apprenticeship and most of those roles are based head office so I'm not sure if I can cope with the cost of transport to London for those roles
Yes there is many opportunities it's just hard for me to decide where I want to be and what sector of the financial service but I hope that I can get a good role and widen my knowledge
Yes
Yes I would because I feel proud to work for a big company like Barclays and I know I can develop further within the company and enjoy my hours too
You have to work hard and stay consistent with your work load, being organised is essential and it is vital to have a great relationship with colleagues in order to enjoy work life so do your best and work with your colleagues as if they are your friends
