This was purely a one-day event, and involved a number of skill development activities, focused on networking, team-building as well as a learning about the experiences of some of the current participants in the EY school leavers apprenticeship program.
Whilst this program may not appear on face value about skill development, it was a very good opportunity to develop ones skills and to begin to build a professional network. There was definitely a certain amount of developing of existing skills involved, however I would not say it was aimed at teaching new skills.
The day itself was very good, I was able to meet a great range of new people, add a few more names to my contact book, and also get a look at the experiences of some of the participants on an apprenticeship scheme I am considering for myself.
The course definitely made me feel as though EY was interested in me and the other candidates, as clearly a lot of time and effort had gone into organising and executing the day. Further communication by EY, also made me feel as though EY was interested in pursuing the relationship further, which some programmes fail to do
The programme was very well organised, it was clear what, where and when everything was going to be done. I was also provided with a good range of information in the lead-up to the programme, which provided me with even more information about what would be required on the day.
This question does not really apply to this particular apprenticeship, however there was a great deal of support provided by everybody on the day, ranging from the project organiser to the individuals team leader.

Whilst this does not really apply to this course, as it was an unpaid work-experience/information day, however EY did provide a generous expenses budget to cover any costs of transport for the day.
This question once again does not really apply to this programme, however we were provided with plenty of information on other EY programmes that were running for us as we progressed through our education, as well as the opportunities that are provided by EY as part of those schemes
Yes
Many companies do not run individual information courses such as this one, however EY had clearly put a lot of time and thought into this. I have recommended this course and other EY courses to many of my friends and told them of the benefits of such schemes. I look forward to more employers following in EY's footsteps
To be prepared for an intense interview progress, however to view it as good experience. Also to be honest with your answers in all aspects and to try and best showcase your own talents during the telephone interviews, as this can be crucial.
