I am working as a European Supply Chain Planner in the Aftersales Warehouse. My job is to ensure that parts that I look after and sent by suppliers when forecasted and are received in the warehouses across Europe. Looking after fast moving parts (screws) to slow moving parts (gearboxes).
Organisation, patience and communication skills via emails and teleconferencing. I use a lot of bespoke GM software, so my knowledge on these has improved massively.
I am enjoying the programme as it gives me the opportunity to understand where my strengths and weaknesses lie within the organization. The company has a calm environment, and my team are very supportive.
I have been getting involved with lots of small projects within the Supply Chain department; receiving large orders from customers. We have regular 1 to 1 meetings with managers, and meetings with HR about how we are feeling. There is also a mentor scheme and each apprentice is allocated an individual in the business where we can chat to them about our career aspirations.
Apprentices rotate for the first 3 years of the programme to allow them to experience new sites and gain new skills. After the 3rd year, apprentices are able to decide where they wish to stay or move to again.
We receive sufficient amount of support from the training provider. Always there to help when we need them.
