As assistant manager for pubs I am responsible for all of the day to day running of the business. Front of house and back of house, I run shifts deal with cash, complaints, invoices, payroll etc.
I have developed a better understanding of motivating and dealing with members of staff to achieve a better way of working and keep the team happy. I've also learnt new business terminology and a better understanding of my industry.
I found the programme beneficial and it worked around my busy work and home schedule.
In my actual place of work I feel valued but as a whole I don't feel such a large company really cares about staff as their turnover is so high. I have seeked help from higher up at greene king a couple of times and felt ignored.
It was extremely well organised, my trainer kept me up to date and informed and we were in constant communications about my work and our next meetings.
My trainer offered me full support, even through a job change she was helpful.
I have been with 2 different managers during this programme, my first was not very supportive at all and the second tried to be a lot more, still not great though.
My pay is okay for my job role, it is not a lot but that is because I live in one of the most expensive cities in the U.K. !
Not sure I understand the question - opportunities for what exactly ?
No
I think that although you have job security as they are such a large company, this is also a bad factor as large companies see staff as more easily replaceable.
Make sure you know your rights and if you have any grievances, don't be silenced. Speak to the appropriate people and make yourself known to your area/ regional managers.
