My role is a community banker. My day to day role involves helping customers with any enquiries they have, for example helping them with everyday banking (transfers, deposits, card maintenance etc) and delievering a fantastic service to customers.
I have learnt a lot of stuff, this job has built my confidence level a huge amount, talking to new customers everyday, it has also helped me with situations when I'm under pressure, I wasn't able to do it before I came here and now I have learnt a lot. How to speak to customers properly how to give them the best advice etc.
I enjoy it to any extent I always wake up in the morning looking forward to go to work especially when you have such a supportive team and a talent coach.
I feel very valued because they have put a lot of trust in me by letting me see the inside of Barclays how it works, the managers treat me like any other staff that have been working here for 20-30 years so it is very good.
It will well organised because we have development plans so we are always on track to do our coursework and get through the apprenticeship successfully, also my managers let me balance my coursework and work out so I don't be stressed.
I receive a lot of support as he is always sending me work, how to do it and if I was to get stuck on anything he's just a phone call away always happy to help me get through anything.
I also receive a lot of support from my line manager and assistant manager because they are always asking me am I up to date on my work, never putting pressure on me which motivates me quite a lot.
My salary is amazing for a apprenticeship, I'm near enough on a normal full time essential bankers payroll so it meets me perfect.
There are a lot of opportunities outside of work but 70% of them don't really apply to me because I don't want to go in other industries other than IT or banking.
