Employed as a trainee mechanical technician, daily tasks include maintaining the machinery to ensure they run safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include developing my knowledge and skills in the department and working as a team with fellow technicians and operational staff.
New skills have been developed from all years. Completed levels 3 and 4 at college whilst completing my PEO units. Skills at work that I have gained are maintaining machines, working as a team and communicating on all levels.
Enjoy coming to work and working as part of a team with all members on my shift.
Nestle make apprentices feel valued at work as they give them plenty of responsibility and ownership.
Nestle work very closely with the training centre and college to ensure the apprenticeship programme is well structured and professional.
My assessor is regularly coming to visit and review my log book / progress. I have his contact details and are always able to text or email if needed.
Nestle are fantastic in all aspects of the apprenticeship. The AMM (managers) are always on hand if there is an issue. We are also given mentors to work with and turn to if needed.
The salary given by nestle is more than enough to meet costs outside of work.
Nestle put us through various courses such as pneumatic etc. This allows us to develop our skills further.
