My job title is a relationship assistant. This entails many things, but the main thing is assisting customers with any queries relating to their sales finance facility. I also help out internal colleagues by providing up to date availability and information about our customers if needed.
I have mainly developed my communication skills on this apprenticeship, as I felt it was one of my weaker areas so I have strived to improve them by hosting our team meetings.
I really enjoy it as it allows me to use skills that I feel I'm strong at such as maths, but also build on other skills I am a bit weaker out, such as my example above.
We get many different forms of recognition from our colleagues / team leaders which leads to high morale in the office, as well as a high sense of achievement.
We get an hour allotted to us every Wednesday morning to work on our apprenticeship, however we can easily get more time if we let our team leader know. This is very helpful as we can use all of the resources available to us at work to help us with our apprenticeship.
Our talent coach is always available on their mobile, so we can talk to them almost anytime about anything which is fantastic support to have. They also provide good, timely feedback on the work I do which helps me to improve the work I'm doing.
We receive excellent support from our team leaders / colleagues, and can approach them about almost anything and they will help to the best of their ability. It's fantastic to have such a resource available to us, which we can use whenever we need to.
The salary for an apprenticeship is an excellent rate, and helps me to cover costs such as insurance, as well as being able to save for the future as well.
Barclays offers an almost unlimited amount of opportunities for it's staff which is great to get involved in as it provides a great sense of achievement on the various community days we can attend.
Yes
They provide an excellent apprenticeship which is a platform to many different avenues within the company dependent on what we want to do.
I believe the number one priority is organisational skills as they help with a number of different aspects of the role.
