I am working with slough pway to maintain the tracks within a certain patch of the western route. Includes removing rails to remove defects
I learnt the way the railway works and also how important time management is on the railway. I have enhanced my time management skills during my time
I love the practical aspect of the apprenticeship as well as the theory. I find working on the job helps implement my theory knowledge
I feel like a valuable member of the gang when I work and feel like my voice is always heard
The programme has a clear stricture from beginning to end which allows me to fix my social life into my routine
The training provider provides adequate support as they are also on hard to answer my questions and always find the right information in relation with my questions
My employer is directly involved in my progress and work as they give me reviews every couple of weeks to ensure I am on top and performing well
The salary is very fair as it covers the basic needs for living but also allows me to save up for my future
I have enough free time outside of work to do work and to have a good social life. My work life balance is very good
Yes
They really build you up as they offer leadership courses but also the railway is a job for life with many benefits
Go for it as it will be he best thing you do. Also look up the different departments to ensure it suits you
