My role in Unilever is within their consumer insight function and I work in the social and business analytics team. My day to day roles vary week by week as new briefs come in on a daily basis from all brands across Unilever. My specific roles within the team are to meet with business partners and find out what they would like to know about their brands, gather social data about their brand, combine the data with business data, analyse all the data, prepare a deck with all my findings to then present back to the brand teams.
My role uses many different tools which all need in depth training to use. I have been put on many training sessions across Unilever varying from tools specific to my team or training sessions for all of marketing.
I highly enjoy my role as there is a great team culture throughout Unilever and with so many exciting projects going on I am always kept on my toes! My apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations and after a year of being here I still look forward for whatever comes next.
I personally feel highly valued by Unilever as I have constant support from my manager and team. I am constantly given new opportunities and experiences which really makes me believes Unilever cares about my development
I feel my programme is very well structured and there is constant support from the apprentice delivery team. The programme is well organised and I can say that being a part of the apprentice team is an exciting and enjoyable place to be.
My training provider is extremely helpful when it comes to my coursework. My tutor has voluntarily set up a work plan for me so I know what I have to submit by when, which with an ever increasing work schedule is extremely useful.
Throughout my time here, my team and the apprentice team have given me full support whether it be from quick queries to long term plans. I have never felt that I am unable to go to someone for support or guidance during my time as and apprentice.
Working in London whilst living outside London is never ideal but I feel my salary and the other perks I gain from working at Unilever is maintainable as an apprentice.
I always have something in my diary for things going on outside of work whether it would be team drinks or an event to go to. I feel that Unilever encourages and enables apprentices to have a great work life balance.
Yes
I feel Unilever is a great place for young keen enthusiastic people to work and develop. The opportunities that are given and more importantly the experienced gained are invaluable to a young induvidual.
Throughout the application process and throughout the entire apprenticeship it is really important to be yourself. All though Unilever is a large corporation it thrives off the collaboration of individuals bringing new and inventive ideas to the table regardless of age or role.
