My role varied each day to include some time in lots of different departments which involved different aspects of law. We were given interesting tasks to complete which were very relevant to the department I was in which gave me a taste of all the different aspects of law
I developed my analysis and communication skills during my work experience as well as the ability to research information on relevant websites in order to solve problems
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found it a helpful insight into what law involves
From what I experienced, it was clear that pinsent masons cared a great deal about what we could get out of the work experience therefore I did feel valued by the company.
The work experience was extremely well organised as it was based on a rotation programme allowing me to experience each department fully.
You receive a huge pint of support from your training advisors as well as any employees you are working along side. There was even a video chat organised which gave us the chance to ask questions to real solicitors which proved to be invaluable
There was plenty of support by all of the employees who were very approachable if you had any questions, problems or simply wanted to find out how you could further your career in law. We had a different employer in charge of us each day but they were all as helpful as each other.
This was only work experience so there was no salary involved unfortunately! We were given a lot of information about the salaries of the apprentices as well as employees which proved to be not only interesting but also very informative. Although money should not dictate your career it was clear that the salary of a lawyer/solicitor was generous!
We were informed that there were various social opportunities for the employees outside of the work place however I nonetheless enjoyed socialising with the other work experience students
Yes
