Project control - I am involved in maintaining project's costs and ensuring that it is delivered on schedule. Monitoring engineering performance of the business.
I have learnt organisation and confidence in the workplace, I am now more able to present in front of audiences have developed higher levels of initiative.
I enjoy the programme as I have lots of responsibility and always have new challenges. Rarely do I find the role repetitive despite the cyclical nature of the job.
I feel like a valued member of a team and feel that the team I work within relies on my input to operate successfully. The management is supportive and I feel like I contribute to the business.
The structure during the scheme is rigid with 5 year-long placements, there is a clear path undertaken by all apprentices on the scheme. The structure during the degree programme is less rigid and feels more flexible.
I always feel supported by scheme management and the college which provide my degree which help with all assignments and any training that is required to complete these effectively.
I feel the support network at BAE Systems is a big positive to working for them in general, I always feel as though I have someone to talk to and if I had an issue that it would quickly be resolved.
My salary is competitive and meets all of the costs including board, travelling to/from work plus more luxury expenditure. The scheme also offers yearly pay increments based on performance which is a bonus.
Yes, BAE Systems are involved in lots of charity work and are also partnered with local communities which offer chances to get involved. They have also trained me to become a north west STEM ambassador which means I get the opportunity to visit schools in the community to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM subjects.
