I am a project controller in the NETMA Production Operations team. I am responsible for the management of waivers across all UK aircraft (T1-T3 contracts). I also manage some production issues in the major units and final assembly lines to resolve issues to prevent late delivery. This involves working with our EPCs, EF, NETMA and the MOD on commercial and financial matters. I also consolidate the upward reporting of the operational performance of the business in a weekly aircraft summary, 21 pack and the CSR.
Yes, although I have not been on any training courses in this role has exposed me to the customer relationship we must maintain.
Really enjoyed - a great balance of work and study plus additional opportunities such as STEM Ambassador work
Each year line management value and appreciation has changed. This year I've felt the least appreciated compared to previous teams. However from a scheme management point of view and a Project Management function we are well recognised with awards, opportunities and promotion around the business
Induction at the start of the scheme, constant opportunities for learning and development, 12 week reviews, quarterly reviews as a scheme, opportunity to have a mentor or reverse mentoring.
Good, tutor available each week and available via email or call. Good facilities at the college such as library, computers.
Good - full team in place from scheme manager, HR manager, wider early careers team. Day to day line management provides general work support
Good - well paid for our age and a fair pay process in place to reward those who achieve. All costs covered, car and house by wage
Yes - STEM Ambassador has opened up lots of opportunities. Community work etc available. Employee discounts at local gyms, sports facilities etc. Went on outward bound at the end of first year
Yes
Its a great place to work as a young person who is aspirational and determined to achieve
Just apply you have nothing to lose. Put everything down that you can, read up about BAE Systems and know about what they do. Be proud of your achievements and show enthusiasm
