We have many placements, currently I am working on testing equipment on a fighter jet. I am given help and guidance, and work on a range of projects including stretch assignments that are different to the day job.
I have learnt a range of coding languages and now understand the interoperability of safety-critical systems.
I enjoy the ethos that the company has, allowing it's employees the space and support to develop. It has surpassed my expectations, as the company places a lot of emphasis on giving it's apprentices a range of different experiences to help them decide where they fit into the business.
Everyone's opinion is important and considered, managers are very accommodating and will sit down and go through any issues you may have. Good work can yield bonuses such as gift certificates.
The structure is a three pronged approach; with University, the day job and NVQ split into several days, breaking the week up. There is an exceptional amount of training and the induction was thorough.
My NVQ assessor is very active in responding to any queries, and will meet with me if required.
My employer supplies a wealth of support from all levels and for all needs, and are very accommodating. Communications are constant and clear, with plenty of advice and guidance given.
My salary fairly covers my costs for travelling. This scheme pays exceptionally well.
The company promotes many activities and is very active in the defence community e.g. Help for Heroes, and is very conscious of it's social footprint. The company also boasts an on-site gym and is happy to allow it's employees to jog at lunchtime, as there are showers in most offices.

The company cares for it's employees, gives them time to grow and succeed. They are patient and provide the utmost to suit each and every apprentices' needs.
BAE Systems are looking for candidates who are committed to putting the hours in, working hard on projects, and take pride in their job. The application must stand out, not just academically but also they are looking for well-rounded people whom can work as a team and have good enterprise skills.
