I send out letters to our suppliers regarding changes to the Export Control Clause and chase up responses. I also send out letters regarding other matters and attend meetings regarding projects I'm working out to do with Export Controls.
I have learnt how to manage my time so I can complete all of my responsibilities to the best of my ability. I have also learnt basic Procurement practices such as buying parts.
When I am busy and have work that is enjoyable then work is ok, however when I haven't got that much work on I often find myself bored and looking for things to fill my time.
In some teams I feel like a valued member of the team with my own work package however in some teams it's easy to feel like an assistant and that you're just being given the jobs nobody else wants like tedious things such as filing and chasing things up.
I wouldn't say the programme was organised in the best way it can be. A lot of the time we don't find out where our next move will be until very late on and it gives us little time to research the team we're moving into and familiarise ourselves with what we'll be doing.
When we have issues we do receive the support we need, especially from those working close to use like our assessors. It would be a good idea to have regular catch ups with our function leads to ask us if we have issues/suggestions as some people don't like to raise these first.
We receive the support we need - they are not as involved as our assessors who we speak to regularly.
The wage is good for the jobs we do- we get travel pay for each day we clock/in out of work. Some consideration should be taken for the costs to get to/from other things such as college - this has only recently been addressed.
If you're good a scouring the Intranet or are lucky enough to be emailed about an event then there is lots to do however it's just finding out about these events that can be the problem.
Yes
I would recommend BAE Systems to my friends but would ask them to make sure they know what they're getting in for. It's a proper office job and for most of the time you'll be sat at a desk however some roles can be exciting depending on what you're working on.
Be honest about why want a job here, tell them what you can bring to the company and do some research before you apply!
