On a day to day basis the job can differ. The job can involve creating and reviewing documents for a set list of aircrafts to producing clearances for systems being used. The work can change depending on what is needed from other departments. Overall the work is interesting and gets you involved.
Throughout the apprenticeship I have been completing a NVQ while finishing a HND in aeronautical engineering. Training within the job happens regularly as new systems and procedures will have to be learnt.
The programme is very good and therefor would recommend. Each team I have worked in looks after you and will teach you new skills specific for that job. In each job role I have been in the teams have got me involved with large jobs and meetings.
In my current job I feel valued as a team member. This is because they have got me involved with large tasks with deadlines. This has also give me chance to learn new skills and improve myself and my current skills.
The structure is organised as there are set meetings in order to keep yourself on track and relay information to your assessor. The inductions and training overall are structured well as they are not dragged out for to long but include all the information you need to know.
Every 12 weeks I have a review with my assessor. This allows us to discuss my current work and any training I have completed. This also highlights any issues I may be having and sets me targets to overcome these problems. A behavioural matrix is also completed which allows me to see how I have been working in my managers eyes.
If there are any problems within my time as an apprentice I know I can contact the training team to help me. Every 12 weeks I have a review with my assessor. This allows us to discuss my current work and any training I have completed. This also highlights any issues I may be having and sets me targets to overcome these problems. A behavioural matrix is also completed which allows me to see how I have been working in my managers eyes.
The salary does cover all general costs. More money would be nice but the salary is still good
There are always opportunity's arising from work such as company events which need volunteers. This can vary from visits into schools to presenting at career fairs. Other volunteering chances within work includes helping the local community.
Yes
As the company will develop them as a person as well as being involved and valued in a large job/task. Each employee is looked after and the work is interesting.
The main piece of advice I would give would be to be yourself and be confident. Signs of confidence when interviewing are a strong handshake, eye contact and clear speech.
