I am a third year aircraft fitting apprentice currently working on Hawk which involves me assembling various sub assemblies on a day to day basis whilst moving around each department on the site.
on a daily basis I believe I learn new skills, this may vary from a small skill to a large one depending on what I am working on that day. We also have courses such as banter training that allows us to learn and realise more about daily interactions and situations you could come across in the work place.
I enjoy most parts of my apprenticeship especially the bond between other work colleagues, this is a big part of the enjoyment and is the base layer for the team.
I feel as a company BAE value all of their employees and they show this with rewards and recognitions which I was lucky enough to be a part of last year winning an award myself.
we have barely any problems to report within our apprenticeship and this can only be because of the good organisational skills from the people in charge of us. They allow us time to complete any courses that we may need to benefit us in the future.
as much as I need because if I did need something they would be there but at the moment there is no support needed. meetings are set up to ensure any queries I have can be asked about in person and answered
general reviews and conversations help with knowing what stages or problems we are encounting at that time and this means we are always up to date and happy.
very well because it allows me to pay off all my outgoings which involves the cost of my car which I use to get to work in and then have some left over to have some freedom with.
there are the learner programmes that you can volunteer to complete but this is something that I have yet to take part in due to the time off the job being greater than I feel is needed.
Yes
AS a whole the way you get treated and the jobs you complete whilst in this job are very beneficial and pleasing which makes coming to work a lot easier.
prepare well for the interview stages and then don't miss out on any opportunities once your in because its something that could never happen again and you live with that regret
