I am an Electrical Craft Apprentice. This involves being hands on. Testing, maintaining and installing equipment on site is part of my everyday role.
I have developed my communication skills by working as part of a team. I have learnt how to organise work loads and work efficiently and effectively.
I enjoy the programme as it gives me hands on experience on a daily basis. I am earning whilst learning and developing life long skills.
I feel valued as part of the team. I have an equal say in anything I do and I feel my opinion and thoughts on a given matter are listened to and thought about.
I feel the programme is well structured. Day release for college is great as it means I get to spend more time actually completing the work and learning the practical side of the role.
I receive a great amount of support from my training provider. They are there whenever I need help or advice.
I receive a lot of help from my employer. If work needs to be done for college or I need extra advice, I feel confident enough to ask them for help and they may give me extra time when needed to complete such work.
The salary I earn whilst training is good compared to other companies. It also increases after every year of my training I complete.
There is usually at least one event per year to take part in outside of the working environment. Charity activities take place which may involve time away.
