Audit associate- My role involved going out to client sites with a small team (usually between 2 and 8 people)to carry out field work on client data. I engage with client team members at all levels and am often given new sections of the file to tackle.
My excel skills have got considerably better as have my people skills! I've also learned lots of new technical skills through gaining my AAT qualification.
I really enjoy my course- I work with great people and am constantly learning new skills. I also get to see the inner workings of a huge variety of businesses which is a great environment to train in.
I feel very valued due to the work and time put in by my manager and people around me. I am given responsibility and support on a daily basis which is great.
There is a clear path and it is very well structures. Initally navigating college courses and exam booking was tricky but now I have got my head around this the structure works well.
A good amount. Kaplan provide lots of online content to support their courses and the tutors provide contact details should you need them at any time.
Lots! Everyone I work with is supportive as they have all been through their training too and know what it's like. The support I am given is sufficient while pushing me to work things out myself too.
I am able to live independently on my salary, while many programmes offer a salary which means you have to live with your parents. I do have to be careful with money and would not be able to afford a car at present however I feel that my costs are well met.
Yes there are many networking opportunities both internally and externally and we are a member of LCASS which allows lots of contact with many other trainees across leeds.
Yes
Because it is a supportive employer with a strong reputation in the market and also a really fun, positive place to work with lots of opportunity.
Be yourself! Ask lots of questions and read up on the firm as it's doing some great things in the economy. The assessment day was really relaxed and there is less of an academic focus than with other firms so try not to stress about this!
