I am an Audit Associate. My day to day role is to help facilitate an audit and complete tasks set by those higher up such as completing tests or speaking to a client and asking questions.
I have learnt many new skills from how to interact with a client to understanding how a business works in terms of the financial records.
It is very challenging and sometimes intense; however this has allowed me to gain skills and learn very quickly as well as progress very fast.
I feel fairly valued as I am not another number I am an individual. there are regular catch up meetings to check if I am okay and if I have any concerns.
the structure of the programme is very well organised and there is a lot of training and opportunities to learn.
We have a fair amount of support from Kaplan our training provider as we have people we can speak to.
there is a lot of support available and we have a manager dedicated to ensuring we are okay in all aspects of the job.
As I am currently living at home my salary covers my costs as my costs are very small at the moment. However when I live out it may change and allow me to meet costs comfortably.
There are many opportunities outside of work to socialise and these are either ran through SCASS or Grant Thornton themselves.
