Aeronautical engineering. learning the different trades within BAE systems, and then specialising within one of these trades. Then getting a job within the business
yes learnt many things such as fitting ,electrical, CAD, Carbon fibre, machining, electrical looming and then also academic things such as maths, English and ict
I really enjoy my programme as everyone around me is supportive and team working is key. we all help one another and make sure everyone is okay. I also enjoy the hands on nature of the programme
I feel very valued at bae systems as we are constantly monitored and reviewed so this means that we can tell if we are on target, we also get rewards for completing parts of our apprenticeship
the programme is very well structured as we spend 6 weeks on each trade and have assignments within them, this makes each trade rewarding and helps us know how well we are doing.
we receive adequate support, however the people who train us our called coaches , this means that they try to let us figure our work out for ourselves, then help if needed.
we receive help if we need it and we are all safeguarded so we are all taken care off by higher up management. if we require extra support we can receive it.
our salary does meet our needs mainly, and there is plenty money for the younger apprentices however the pay is rather small for older apprentices who have bills to pay ect.
there are some opportunities to get involved in some activities, but there could be more effort made towards these such as sporting activities.
Yes
brilliant company to work for, who take care of their employees and often listen to them, and will get involved whenever necessary. they also ensure a job afterwards
make sure you read up on the website and know the company inside and out, and ensure that you are keen and want the job more than other applicants, also make sure that you are a team player and have employable characteristics
