My role has given me the ability to broaden my knowledge with the virgin media network. The apprenticeship has allowed me to understand and get involved in different initiatives. I have been able to contribute fully toward my team.
I have learnt many new skills, my computer skills were good but needed improving, my email writings were not up to scratch. these are only couple of skills which this apprenticeship has allowed me to improve. I have gained more leadership skills now.
I thoroughly enjoy this program and the apprenticeship, it is a hard apprenticeship but through perseverance I believe I will come out on top. there are parts of this apprenticeship which is extremely stressful however overall it is really good.
I feel extremely valued by my team and Virgin Media. Virgin Media is an excellent employer, form high level management to low level management are all excellent individuals. Many of the high level management in Virgin Media have a connection with apprenticeships.
The organizational structure is excellent we fit right in to the team and understand what we need to do, the initial organization was a bit of but as we were the trail blazers for my current program. it is understandable that there many aspects that needed to be perfected.
Our academic learning is done with Aston University and they provide us all the support and all the materials that we require to get out studies done. there is also extra support for those who need it if it is required. Our internal learning is managed by our own team and we learning at a slandered that they deem necessary.
we have received a lot of support from my employer, we have different who look after us in different ways however we know whom to turn to when we need help. We have a dedicated apprentice manager who is always available and then we have a work manager.
The salary package is good, it is much higher than average persons wage. this salary has helped me look after my family, I can wish it to be more however realistically this salary is ok in the grand scheme of things. However I believe it should be grater if you were to take in to account apprentice on a lower level.
yes there are excellent opportunities outside of work, our employer has paid for 1 year subscription for ITP. with the ITP we are able to go on to events related to the telecoms industry and meet fellow telecoms apprentices. I have been also involved in the Brathay challenge and helped make a huge difference to some ones life.
Yes
yes I would recommend VM to anyone, first reason apprenticeships are the way forward. I am true believer of apprenticeship having done three my self. Plus Virgin Media is an excellent company to work for, there so many opportunities with this place all you need to do is get you foot in the door, what better way to do it with an apprenticeship.
When applying for Virgin Media I would highly recommend that you be yourself, never over act. Never exaggerate your self or anything that is given to you. Get involved with the activities, show your passion but don't over do it. Virgin Media look for fun young individuals who can learn and are willing to take on a challenge.
