I am a Business Planning Apprentice. I plan routes for Virgin Media fibre cable to go into business customers' premises to provide them with our business services. On a day to day basis I go out and complete surveys then come back to the office and plan & write up the job.
As an apprentice I am completing coursework towards my level 3 technical certificate. The company also send you off to a variety of courses relevant to your job role, such as software training, health and safety etc.
This apprenticeship wasn't what I expected however I do enjoy it. The company is a really nice to work for and the job and people are good too.
I feel valued by Virgin Media. You are always able to go on training courses to progress your skills and get involved with a range of other activities and opportunities. If you do something good you will get recognized and rewarded.
It is reasonably organized, feedback has been given in about this and it is being acted upon.
I get a sufficient amount of support from my training provider. We meet regularly to go over the programme.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I am always learning new things and I am given a lot of guidance.
My salary is very good for an apprenticeship and easily meets my living costs.
Virgin Media are always doing charity events and we also arrange fun things to do within the office, like going bowling and out for meals.
