Job role - Activate Apprentice Provisioning Engineer. This includes supplying customer circuits nationwide whilst liaising with third party suppliers such as Talk Talk and BT.
I have gained valuable knowledge by completing my Cisco CCNP certification which enables me to work on high level customers.
I enjoy learning new things everyday and look forward to the prospect of working in different departments within virgin Media to better my understanding of networking as a whole.
Very - The management team and staff members make the Virgin family tick, help is given by all when needed and good quality work is recognized by everyone. whenever someone exceeds expectation or goes out of their way to resolve someone else's problem, they are given a shout as a token of appreciation for their hard work.
Since beginning the apprenticeship the structure could have been better. Proper Training wasn't given and getting the apprentices integrated into the team took a couple of months as opposed to a couple of weeks. There is no clear plan over the course of the 4.5 years as of yet.
Help and guidance is crucial to better your skill set and here at virgin Media we are lucky to have such educated and knowledgeable people who are always more than happy to help.
The management team is very flexible with the apprentices as they know how much work we have to complete. I am very happy with the attitude of the managers and how they have supported us so far.
At such a young age, salary is not a massive requirement. The main thing for me is to gain valuable experience and take this further. If all goes well my salary will increase as I better myself as a networking engineer.
Virgin Media hold lots of out of office events to help bring communities together. Charity events and team building exercises are a great way to help build relations and Virgin Media has adopted this idea very efficiently.
