I am a planner for virgin media, my daily tasks involve planning HFC and fibre to customers homes, this involves me speaking to a range of different departments and having various responsibilities like costs etc.
I will be getting level 3 functional skills for maths, English and ICT, as well as developing key skills to help in my career. Examples of this are team work skills, independent working, developing my knowledge into various systems that Virgin Media use.
The apprenticeship programme is a great experience and makes work enjoyable, there isn't a day where I wake up and don't enjoy the fact that I am going to work, this is because of the way the apprenticeship is managed and ran.
I feel that without my input into virgin media there would be a gap, which is essentially making me an asset rather than just an employee.
The way the programme is organised was a bit slow to start with but I feel that it has picked up and flowed really well with time.
I receive various support from my training provider as this is virgin media and if there is anything I need or want to do then all I have to do is request it.
My employer grants a lot of support with any requests or concerns that I might have, resulting in answers being made quickly and efficiently with my best interest in mind.
My salary package in comparison to a lot of apprenticeships is brilliant and pays very well.
There are various opportunities that are offered by Virgin Media, examples of these are becoming a member of the ITP which then leads to various events being held that you can attend and explore other areas of your industry.
Yes
Virgin Media is a great employer and I would recommend them to anybody as there is so much support from them with anything you need.
Be yourself because if you put on a front in an interview situation then you will have to maintain that for a long time.
