My job title is BTNet order management and we manage orders for corporations and small businesses. The order will be given to us through sales and BT local businesses which we will then manage through to completion with engineer appointments and in co-operation with Openreach.
We have had lots of on the job training such to do with customer facing skills which has boosted my confidence and makes me feel at ease when interacting with customers. We've also had external training courses to boost our call stats and to make the customer feel at ease when we're on the call with them through taking a more friendly approach without seeming so corporate.
The team was very welcoming and I always feel open to asking questions as they are always happy to help. The company as a whole is very welcoming, no matter what department and this allows you to move around much easier and explore what routes you want to take in the future. I am definitely enjoying it as a whole.
My manager always makes me feel valued by recognising my work and feedback from customers and will always discuss myself with other managers to share my feedback with others.
We had an induction day to introduce us to the general apprenticeship along with job shadowing to see what we would be doing in the future. We also have dedicated study days every 2 weeks or when our apprenticeship coach organises one.
Our coach is always open to any sort of question with BT and if he is not available he will always provide contact to other coaches that he trusts so we are always able to find support.
My manager is always there if I need help and is always welcoming to any queries we have. Alongside that every manager is, so you can always find guidance with any problem you have with the company or if you need any support at all.
This apprenticeship is one of the highest paid ones I've seen which easily covers my costs as I don't have to spend that much due to not living along, it also can easily cover my travel costs and daily food costs etc.
There are many events we can apply to which we can find on BT websites which allow us to explore different parts of the company and hear different people stories which we can then use to motivate ourselves or can use these events to find support or guidance on what you want to do in the future.
Yes
I felt very welcomed when I joined BT and everyone I've spoken to has been very nice which made my experience as a whole very good. The apprenticeship is also one of the highest paid ones which I said so if you are looking at a jumpstart in salary this would also be the way to go.
BT's main focus now is on the customer and teamwork so I would say focus on them two points when applying so you can have a better chance at getting a job offer.
