I am a higher apprentice, who has been focusing on project management, however I am now starting rotations and training with other departments within the company. Whilst in project management I helped with the daily running of projects, with weekly calls, change management and various proactive and reactive tasks that were required.
I have had the opportunity to go on external training course, both of which related to project management. I am soon to go on an internal training to help me increase my cyber knowledge. I have also been given the change to complete a foundation degree, whilst completing a level 4 NVQ.
I enjoy the team that I work with, and working in such a large company. This is because there are many departments with different roles and it has been interesting to see what the company actually does, as it was much more than I initially thought.
I have not received much praise from external sources, but feel appreciated internally, by those I work with.
We were the first people to undertake this apprenticeship, so there was always going to be slight bumps and improvements. However we have given feedback so hopefully this can be changed in the future.
This has been good. I have found that lecturers have been contactable via e-mail whilst I am at work, and that they tend to be helpful when I have a question in class.
Apprentices have been seen to be a drawback in our team, due to the costs of having us., However I have felt good support from my line manager and those I have worked with.
Salary is fine, and gradually increases each year which is good. It is good compared to other apprenticeship schemes.
I have attuned several external events representing the company, including leadership challenges, recruitment days and events. They do support volunteering as well.
Yes
Because it is a good company to work for, as there are many different opportunities and challenges.
To be confident in your interview, but not to dominant or overrule others in group tasks. Don't expect the smoothest on boarding process though.
