I start college at nine o'clock and begin working on assignment. if necessary I will work through break and lunch to complete work, making sure I hit every deadline. I usually follow up teachers about unmarked work and ask any questions I have about the course.
I believe I have opened up and came out of my shell during the first half of the apprenticeship. I feel that when I start at the training centre I will hopefully be able to continue to open up and become a more confident person.
I Really enjoy the program, I feel as if I am working in a real engineering environment I believe that when I begin working at the training centre I will enjoy my apprenticeship even more as I will be doing more hands on work and feeling like a real worker.
I don't feel as valued by Siemens as I imagined I would. Spending so much time at college, I feel separated from the company. If we were to spend more time at Siemens I would have felt as if I was on an apprenticeship, at the moment it feels as if I'm still at school.
The program at college is not as organised as I would have hoped, there are a lot of questions that are never answered and some tutors don't plan there topics with structure leading us to almost run out of time on some assignments.
We get ample support from our tutors at college and we have regular support from our apprenticeship manager at Siemens.
We take part in weekly reviews with our line manager to keep up to date with our progress at college.
I believe that my salary package meets all of my needs and more. I am one of the youngest members of the group, so I don't have the same commitments that some of the older members of the team have. Some workers have their own homes with children. I don't have any of these commitments.
So far there have been no opportunities out side of work but I believe that this will change when we start working on Siemen's site. I think that we have not been able to take part in the many opportunities Siemens offer due to spending nine months at college with no time at Siemens.
Yes
Siemen's is a well known company and the opportunities they can offer me after I serving my time as an apprentice are the reasons why I enjoy working hear. The company is international and the chance to travel and work abroad are very appealing to me and I imagine people who wan to work around the world for a well respected engineering company should look no further than an apprenticeship with Siemens.
if you know what you want to do and you know background about the company, you should stand a chance. completing a work placement in an engineering company will also look good as you will have background knowledge on how companies work.
