My role in my apprenticeship is to become a time served engineer and eventually partake in the processes of the company depending on where my home department will be. My day to day activities involve watching on with a machinist on the jobs they are working and getting an insight into how the different parts of the company operate and also to see what actually happens with the jobs that are brought in.
I have learnt a numerous amount of skills while being on my apprenticeship, for instance I have learnt the core skills of fitting, milling, turning and maintenance which I can take with me when I am in my home department.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it is interesting learning how things work and are made, also the team I work with are all helpful and nice to work with.
I feel very valued by siemens as they look after you and ensure that you are okay. They involve you with tasks so they make you feel like a important asset to the team.
the programme on my apprenticeship is very well structured, it follows a 9 month period at college, then 9 months in the training centre, 12 months on rotation and then 19 months on home department.
I receive a huge amount of support as they provide me with guidance and support when ever I may need it.

the salary package meets all my needs and I have no complaints.
there is company nights out/sports days which I can take part in when the opportunity arises.
Yes
it is a very good company to work for as there is a number of opportunities available and they also ensure you are looked after.
I would advise them to ensure they put a lot of time and effort into every section of the application process so they give themselves the best chance possible.
