I'm a essential banker at Barclays which involved helping customer throughout the whole day doing such things as paying money in, withdrawing and other such things as make transfers. The days can be very repetitive so you need to be very motivated to work towards a higher role.
At the end of the course, i will have gained a level 2 in financial customer advisory. Skills I have develop would be problem solving, decision making and face to face customer service.
The work can be very interesting to do with it helping my knowledge in the workplace. The work can feel tedious but it overall improves my knowledge .
Very valued, staff at Barclays are very good with everyone being friendly and branches feeling very connected with no one feeling out of touch. Rewards at Barclays are amazing, with loads of benefits being available to everyone for people of all ages. Regular meetings with managers can provide feedback to improve on.
The programme is well organised, the work is on a website so as much work can be done whenever you want. So if you want to get lots of work done you can and don't need to be held back. Support is very good with my tutor always saying that he's a text away and giving me regular updates. Can be difficult to find motivation after a long day at work to do more work at home.
Loads, if I ever need he I can just text him and he'll always reply as soon as possible. If I've ever stuck, he provides support and tries to come in for regular catch up to see if everything is going alright with the course. He never acts like anything an inconvenience when asked for help.
All mangers at my branch provide support with anything I'm stuck with. They're always asking if everything is alright, how my day was just to see if I'm alright. If I want to get into a certain place, for example business, they will help organise time where you can shadow them or get training in that place.
Very well, It a good salary to start savings with at a young age. Parking in a town centre can be expensive, but the salary does well to cover the travel costs.
Not many, as a branch we go out for a drink after work from time to time but there isn't load of company activities or clubs. When Barclays do a social event, it is normally very fun. As staff are so friendly, events could probably be organised.
Yes
The days can be very long and repetitive but if you find it interesting and are motivated it a good industry to get into. Barclays have a lot of benefits which can provide a lot of saving for people with families. The Staff at Barclays are very good with everyone helping each other.
It a good industry to get into if you're motivated and find it interesting. It can take a long time before starting you're first day but its worth getting into that provide lots of benefits. I would of like to been told when I would need to get there in the morning and the average time I would get out but it isn't a massive problem but would have like to known.
