I am a networking apprentice. my role involves rotating around various parts of the business, gaining an understanding of each role so that I gain the knowledge I need to complete my apprenticeship successfully. On a day to day basis I currently have work that I do consistently on a day to day basis.
Yes, I have picked up skills for networking roles and I have understood the greater picture of technology within the company that I work. I have also developed my skills and abilities with presenting, being more confident and able to deliver a good presentation with the right content and to the right audience.
I do enjoy it, no day is the same and I feel really engaged within the business, finding every day exciting and challenging to face. I enjoy it to a great extent because I feel there is always something for me to do and something for me to be thoroughly engaged with and involved in.
I feel strongly valued by BT, they put a strong investment into the future of the apprentice through, work, effort and fees paid for university, making me feel valued as an employee for BT. I feel like they put a lot of effort into supporting me and also into the career that I have once I have finished my apprenticeship.
The structure is well set out with many things to help assist with my development as an apprentice, as a person and in my whole career. There is good pathways for learning and great support given through employees and other apprentices. I feel that the structure they give helps me to develop my career to where I want to go.
I receive large amounts of support from my training provider, in terms of support, assistance, checks via email and calls and also any help with issues, and any form of support that I may require as an apprentice within the company. I am supported by various ways within the company and I feel thoroughly supported by it.
I receive good support from my employer, through feedback, meetings about my performance, promotions and useful assistance programmes. There are various manners in which I can receive support, through the buddy system, through my line manager, my apprentice coach and through fellow work employees and apprentices. This all helps me to train and complete my role in a successful manner.
My salary currently meets my needs fairly accurately. I feel that the wage rise plan is also good enough to support me and the target of a full time wage also gives good motivation for an apprentice like myself to then work towards in my future, helping me to plan and build my future.
The company offers many opportunities for me as an apprentice outside the confines of my usual working manner. This is through volunteering, with opportunities to support young children in technological involvement or doing careers events about apprenticeship and even community events to help those outside and around BT. All this allowing me to help and get involved in all of these activities.
Yes
Because I believe they offer an apprenticeship that helps to develop and support the individual involved. Helping aspiring young people to become the hardworking individual that they want to be. Helping them to realise their potential and work towards the career path that they want, whilst also being supported by the wage that the company offers to them.
I would advise that they should make sure they apply as themselves, don’t write anything that’s not like you just to impress the employer. The company also appreciates someone who shows they are willing to work hard and keep trying at something that they want to achieve, these are good values and the company will like to see that.
