It Ranges quite a lot. I've performed roles from 3rd line support, to patch and fix development, to configuration management and a whole variety of secondary roles such as Metrics & Analytics, Quality Assurence There is never a dull moment with my work here, i enjoy the variety of work i am given and it is really suited to my skills.
Yes, It feels like I have completely reinvented myself since joining the programme almost 2 years ago in 2015. I have developed my financial skills and learnt how to incorporate certain specific-skills for IBM into my work using their databases i have never used before and ensuring i can do the work on these databases too. I enjoy learning anything new in my apprenticeship here.
100%! Any colleague i can find wearing an IBM badge, i can feel confident that they will give me the time of day if i need something or any help etc. and that they will also be present towards me. I enjoy the work very much and also the overall atmosphere in the area/office i work in too. I have never had any major problems within the business and i know where to go too if i do.
From my first week i felt like i was valued by my colleagues, and could give value back to IBM as an entity. I think that IBM values every employer as they offer lots of help and information through meetings, emails and leaflets occasionally handed out around the offices. They care for everyone and ensure their wellbeing is looked after too.
Currently my programme has been very well organised up to this point. Previously Parviz and Currently Jez Brookes are organising my apprenticeship and they have done a fantastic job of running the programme flawlessly! I cant really think of any areas to improve on as they are always letting us know vital information and ensuring we are comfortable with where we are in IBM too!
I feel as though any support i need is provided through my PDM and any colleague or buddy i may wish to ask. If, on the chance they are not present with me or not at work i know with everyday tasks i will get support from employees around me and my supervisor, there is always a helpline for further support not to do with work also.
I feel as though any support i need is provided through my PDM and any colleague or buddy i may wish to ask. This question is the same as my previous answer. We have leaflets and information helplines we can call and support regarding work is always given from colleagues and supervisors who have the skills to help you on the specific work.
Definitely! I could not wish for anything more at such a young age. I am looking to rent a flat sometime soon or perhaps next year and i am currently able to save quite a lot of money every months in a savers account to help this dream of mine come true. I like to be independent and the salary i am on definitely helps me with this.
There are quite a few opportunities that have presented themselves to us over the past two years. We have had numerous social events happen within the office and its a really good idea to have these as you get to know your co-workers on a friendly basis. The company offer information for events in the town we are situated in too.
Yes
Anybody remotely interested in the world of technology knows IBM, and imagine having that name on your CV! If that is not value enough, i am treated equal to every other employee including those with degrees, and i am provided with numerous training courses and certification opportunities. The pay is really good and overall you will have a really nice time here!
Before you apply and hopefully get an interview, make sure you read the "7 Competencies". This is pretty much the criteria they view CV's against and Mark you against for the whole assessment center. Know the competencies, prove your competencies, ensure you speak well of yourself and present yourself in a formal way to show you really care and want the job/apprenticeship and you will be fine.
