I am a school leaver at EY. I am currently training to be a fully qualified chartered accountant. This involves sitting my ICAS exams whilst also carrying out the audit of EYs clients. I am given a good amount of responsibility which increases alongside my time as EY. I am out at different client sites all the time, giving me audit experience.
Yes. I have been at EY less than a year and have already passed two TC ICAS exams. I have been to multiple training courses in order to develop both my auditing skills and key skills that I use everyday. My confidence has also increased greatly.
I really enjoy the programme. I enjoy the work I do day to day, although challenging I like to push myself. I always work in a team which helps to boost morale. The programme is exceeding my expectations.
I feel very valued by EY. We are often given feedback from our senior which contains strengths and also development points allowing us to see that what we are doing is right and does have an impact on the job as a whole.
The programme is very organised. We are given the necessary training and time off when necessary for exam leave.
In terms of support we have a counsellor and also ICAS tutors in terms of studying. All training courses I have attended have had helpful training providers and the ICAS tutors are also always helpful.
This changes depending on the client we work on. The audit team changes every time you change client. I have generally found that the senior who I am working under is very supportive and helpful.
As an 18 year old still staying at home my salary definitely covers my costs and more. It covers my travel to work and leaves me with plenty of money to live off of. EY also pay for our travel to client sites etc. if this exceeds our daily travel to the office.
Yes. There are lots of social events at EY outwith working hours. We are also given CSR days to take off in order to carry out charitable work.
Yes
I thoroughly enjoy it and there are a lot of opportunities within EY. You are able to gain experience working with some huge and diverse clients which is great. The people at EY really make it too.
Try your best. Always be professional. In terms of assessment centres etc. try to stand out from the crowd for the right reasons. Ensure you are taking a leadership role but also ensure you are including other members as oppose to trying to take the spotlight for yourself.
