Job title: Business Trainee Daily tasks: Internal/External meetings. Conference calls, plenty of excel work! Paying invoices, drafting reporting packs for clients, drafting statutory liquidation documents, phoning HMRC...
Working towards the ACA qualification. Plenty of internal training courses for Excel, business writing skills etc. My organisation and communication skills have greatly improved, along with my business writing and speaking skills
As whole I enjoy the programme. Some tasks (at Business Trainee level) are monotonous but this is understandable. I would like more responsibility, but understand the nature of our work and this cant always be the case
As we work on a number of projects at once, value levels do differ from job to job. From 90% of my managers, I feel valued and I feel the work I do does actually have an impact. Although one of my managers makes me feel expendable if you like, but I understand everyone has different leadership styles and do not take it personally
Very organised and structured. Although sometimes it feels 'too structured'. It can be difficult to get on certain projects which you may find interesting as you are currently not working in that team. At qualified level this doesn't matter so much, but at our level I feel there are some restrictions due to it being so structured. but as a whole, the scheme is amazing
Always happy to put on extra classes etc if needed. Cannot fault
The firm has been very supportive. Especially during some difficult times I have been through. Cannot thank my counsellor and all those involved enough
Great, as I am living at home. Although I know a number of people who have moved to London for this job and feel like they are living on the bread line. Could EY subsidise rent payments for those who move down? who knows
Socially, yes. There are so many different 'clubs' and 'networks' you could be busy after work every night if you wanted!
Yes
Great firm, amazing training, meet thousands of new people, never a dull moment
Work hard, stay in school, be yourself and don't change for anyone
