Working within Audit I have the chance to visit a number of different companies throughout the year for statutory, regulatory and group reporting audits, along with the occasional project work. In my current role as a Senior I am leading the audits, being the intermediary between EY and the client as well as the junior and senior staff.
Am currently undergoing the ACA qualification in which I am half way through. Always internal training events which you can attend along with web based training. There are mandatory week long training courses at the end of each year to help with your transition into your new role. When transitioning to Senior level there is a weeks training abroad with the whole of EY EMEIA which gives you a chance to meet new people from overseas. EY also lets you build on professional skills, most significantly being coaching as well as communication skills and how to tailor approach for different audiences.
Best thing about the programme is the people that I have met. The work, especially during 'busy season' is tough, however with the good teams I have been on it has made it a lot better.
I regularly receive feedback from manager on my progress and how I can improve certain aspects. there is an internal recognition award scheme which I have been awarded 3 times since joining the firm. If you perform well and it is noticed then you sometimes will get the opportunity to work on special projects which again is very rewarding.
The programme is only on it's 4th intake now so is relatively new in comparison to others in the market. This therefore means the structure changes a little year by year, slowly getting better. The main issue with the programme is that it is spread over 5 years, where you stay at the same level for the final 3 years of the programme.
Tutor's are usually good and are able to respond to questions within 24 hours. we are provided with a lot of resources on an online platform which is very helpful. If we experience any issues then there is an internal EY team that will resolve them for us.
We get given study leave for our exams to attend college to best prepare us. When studying managers tend to be more flexible and will let you have additional time off. We are assigned counsellors who will also usually provide any support if needed.
Cover's all cost's however the gap between the school leaver programme and the graduate programme is quite high. For example once you are a 3rd year school leaver you then only become on par with what the new graduates start on. pay has however been increasing over the years as they change the structure of the programme.
EY has a sports team for any sport you can think of. If there isn't a club set up for your support then usually you are able to, along as there is enough people interested, set up your own one. EY helps lots of charities and allows everyone in the company 2 days off per year for Corporate Social Responsibility days.

Very good/ big name to have on your CV. Excellent platform to study, get the experience and move on if needs be. Or lot's of scope to be promoted and stay until partner.
Make sure you prepare well for your interview and know your stuff. research the job you are specifically applying for as you will be interviewed by a manager from that department. Use the EY website as it has lot's of case studies from previous applicants.
