Audit Associate. Day to day client work, hands on audit work, Year end and Statutory audits. Also partake in stocktakes. Mixture of small and large clients. Interact with other staff at every level every day, and with the client most days.
I have learnt how to audit, and am on the way to receiving my CFAB. After my CFAB I will get a chartered accountant qualification with ICAEW. It has developed my team working skills and also my excel skills.
I enjoy being part of a team with work, small and large. I enjoy the different size clients I work on. I love working for a big company with a good reputation, and the chances I have for qualifications.
All work I do is always thanked/appreciated by the relevant manager. If I work especially hard I feel I am always thanked/the work I do adds value to the audit.
My programme is very well structured. The induction was planned months before the start date, training is also always planned in advance. We have constant support if we need it in the form of a buddy and counsellor.
Kaplan provide our tuition for my qualifications, we have an email for general inquiries and also our teachers email address so we can ask questions.
Our managers on every job are very supportive, as are our seniors. If we need any help there's always someone there. Our counsellors are very supportive and always there if we have queries or any issues at work.
I still live at home and therefore pay minimal rent per month. My salary more than covers this and I feel I could also move out and still afford rent. Travel costs/meals on away jobs are expensed by the company and therefore doesn't come out of my salary.
I am part of the schools recruitment team which gives me the chance to attend recruitment events around Bristol. We also have 2 charity days a year where we can help the local community partaking in activities either organised by work, or organised by ourselves.
Yes
It is a great company to work for with constant support if you have problems. It is a great option instead of university (school leaver programme), with useful qualifications throughout that are funded by EY. Finally it is one of the 'Big 4' and therefore a well respected company.
The application process has multiple stages, containing phone interviews, online tests and assessment centres. EY mainly focus on your strengths instead of focussing solely on academic performance. At assessment days/interviews the best thing to do is be yourself.
