Administrative Apprentice Meeting Organising Hardware Reviews Licensing NDA creation for vendors
Training with I2020 around investment banking and funds etc. Internal presentations about M&G and the investment industry Webinars included in my apprenticeship scheme covering communications, customer service, administrative tasks and the business environment. Excel and IT quizzes and tutoring with my qualification to pass my apprenticeship.
I now feel comfortable that I can preform my role well without constant support. My team is always willing to help as well as anyone else in the IT Operations team. It has exceeded my expectations as I always have time to keep up to date with work as well as study and my whole team supports me in this, especially if I have an exam coming up.
I am always thanked for my work, even for things that take little effort on my part. Recently I was involved in a project for the head of IT and to show appreciation those that worked on it went out for dinner. I definitely feel like a valued and trusted member of the team.
I have an exam every month with a webinar that goes a long with it. Then a evaluation task and a research project that will take several months. There is a detailed learning plan that I was given at the start of the course detailed the dates for each deadline so I always know what I should be working on. I also have a monthly call with my assessor for any questions and to make sure I am on track.
My assessor and BPP have email addresses that are constantly monitored and any queries will be answered quickly.
My manager and team are all aware when I have an upcoming exam and are more than willing to take some work off my plate the a couple of days before so I can focus on studying. My monthly talks with HR are an extra layer of support and I know if I ever had an issue that I felt I couldn't handle myself, they would sort it out for me. However, so far I have had no issues with support. My assessor and BPP have email addresses that are constantly monitored and any queries will be answered quickly.
My location is perfect for me as it is one train and an hour door to door. Even with the move to the build I will still have a simple commute. My salary is good for an apprentice and allows to have a good social life, pay bills (car insurance, travel etc.) holiday and save a little every month.
M&G offer many events that can be used for networking. There are also separate events for just graduates and apprentices to help you meet others from around the business. My team also go on nights out together as well as a charity days, that I organise. I2020 offer events for apprentices across companies.
Yes
They are extremely supportive and offer a well thought out scheme. Anyone would be lucky to work for the company but especially those just starting out as M&G invests as you as an employee.
Be yourself as M&G are looking as you as a person. Apprenticeship schemes are more about if they believe you have the right qualities as they can teach you all the technical stuff. Also make sure you check all your spellings!
