I am an applications consultant working on client site. My day to day role involves the on-going support of critical business applications and the organisation of new updates for applications
learnt many new coding languages through the university part of the apprenticeship and have been able to use these in work. I have also had the opportunity of working with project teams and dealing with the account's finances
The programme that I am on gives the opportunity to develop yourself in a wide range of areas. The notion of a typical day does not exist! Every day is different, particularly in my role.
We are shown a lot of praise and gratitude for our hard work. This is often rewarded, and very generously so. People are very grateful of the effort that you put in
The programme has a very well structured timetable; you know exactly where you are on the timeline and you know where you will be headed next. The team that look after you are also very knowledgeable and are able to answer any questions that you may have
Our training provider, Aston University, are very receptive to any emails that you may send and have ample people available to help should you need it.
Capgemini goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to supporting us. Every person that I have interacted with is wary of the workload that they may be giving us and is happy for you to not take on as much if you feel that it may be too much
The salary package and expenses package more than surpasses my costs. Capgemini are very generous when it comes to expenses and I have never had any problems with it.
There are plentiful opportunities outside work to engage with the graduate and apprentice initiatives, many different local roles and you also get the opportunity to go to Client activities that they run for employees!
Yes
Well structured scheme, massive worldwide presence and generous pay/benefits package
Be yourself, do research about the company and bring it up in any interviews; do your homework! Be open minded about working in different locations away from home for extended periods of time
