I am an apprentice CAD technician at the moment, and as part of my daily tasks i produce drawings as needed, i have many interactions with my own team, however do not interact externally. I am working on HS2 as a Apprentice Track Designer.
Yes i have been on internal CAD Courses, along with how to use our design software, i am now learning how to use it in a practical way, while collecting evidence towards my EngTech Technician qualification.
I enjoy working with my team, as it provides me with new experiences and new challenges every day. The company culture is to question everything as needed so we all know what is going on and how our tasks fit into that, it has filled my expectatins.
I have had several emails thanking me for my support towards projects in the past, and had a few emails thanking me through managers externally for my support.
I have had a induction and a proper CAD course to teach me the basics, then asked to contribute towards high profile projects to show and learn CAD skills, now I am starting to learn how we design solutions under supervision and support.
My training provider is always happy to answer questions relating to my job, and is generally available apart from Meetings. He always provides me with the answer, but also how to think through a problem myself and how to do it in the future.
Any support I have required has been answered, however minimally, and access to any support I may have is quick and easy to do.
The salary i am on fulfills the requirements i have to live. All costs fit within the salary i have as an apprentice at ARUP
Yes every day has a different Sport and Social activity, along with numerous night out at restaurant along with Christmas Due.
Yes
ARUP allows you to grow and expand on your own, however it also provides support and guidance when needed, so you can progress at your own pace but when stuck there is always someone there to help.
Be willing to talk about your faults, everyone has them, and ARUP as a company wants to help you find them. The interview will want to talk about the job role you are going into, research what the job will require, and learn about the job role.
