You will be working in a professional environment from the start. Daily tasks include communicating with clients, performing and working through pieces of work on your own or as part of a team.
The programme requires a balance of working and studying. A very steep learning curve comes with the job, a lot of skills will have to be learned quickly. You will also gain your chartered accountancy qualification over the 5 year period, so there is further opportunities to learn along this path.
Each team is made up of great people who will always have time for you. There are great perks working for a big firm like Deloitte, and although the work is difficult you will be rewarded. Joining the programme has surpassed the expectation I had before joining. There are some really great people here who make the job so enjoyable.
On the job your efforts are always appreciated. From the start of your career you will be included in tasks and projects that are interesting and appropriate to your knowledge and skills.
The programme is still in the early stages, and has been running in Scotland for only 3 years. Even though the scheme is just starting out, there is a clear path laid out in front of you. The path is very similar to the graduate programme which means there is always someone to answer questions or provided assistance.
The chartered accountancy body that you will study with provided classroom and online environments for you. There is also study/revision sessions in the run up to exam time. The online environment allows you to study at your own pace.
There is a dedicated sectoin of the HR team devoted to relations with the training provider, along with a central unit based in London who will help with the specifics of the programme. For support with on the job roles you are provided with a mentor and an appraiser for more formal discussions.
The salary is very good for a school lever programme, it's certainly enough to cover living costs in a location close to the office where you are based.
The firm organises events for the whole office to get involved with, including charity fundraising, volunteering and sports teams.
