Software Developer Lead - Responsible for the support and maintenance of several Oracle Environments and for producing code fixes to a wide variety of user raised faults.
Confident with coding in various language (PL/SQL, UNIX, Java) as well as Oracle Technologies (HRMS, Payroll, EBS, Toad)
The degree programme allows me to combine related study with technical, IT-related work, both of which complement each other significantly allowing me to achieve a high standard in both. The people I work with are all geared towards providing the best level of service possible and in maintaining/improving their own technical capabilities. The ensures and environment of collaboration and learning which is conducive to improving my own skills and performance.
Very valued - the work I put in is recognised both by the people I work with and recognised by the Graduate and Apprentice Management Team.
The programme in its current form is very well structured which is clearly detailed to students through all stages. I cannot speak for the arrangements in regards to the end of the programme (i.e. graduation) however I do not have any fears due to the level of detail applied to current operations.
I receive more than adequate support both from the Graduate and Apprentice team, from the staff at Aston University responsible for delivering training material as well as the staff within my office charged with looking after my development (reviewer, manager etc.).
Same as 6a.
I would say the salary is very competitive upon joining Cap (well in advance of legal requirement for Apprentices) and as its based principally upon performance, rewards exceedingly well the further you get into the program with the higher levels of qualifications you receive.
The opportunities outside of work to strengthen your own skills and brand are primarily down to your seeking. Capgemini empowers you to do this by having routines in place to fulfil these opportunities, however it is up to you to go and seek them.
Yes
Capgemini has improved my life, my future employability and given me the passion back for what I do - I would recommend in a heartbeat.
Look into the application process thoroughly. First and foremost try and demonstrate your strengths as an individual and try to relate these to success in working in an IT environment.
