  • 4. How valued do you feel by Arup?
  • With the company being very large I was worried that as an apprentice I would be left out but everyone is friendly and open to help when and wherever they can. The office is extremely divers and really great open environment to work in.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • When I joined I spent a month with a senior engineer who helped me into construction and gave me a great start to the role. We then had a large induction in involving apprentices from the country where we had time to share ideas and create network between offices. Since then I have been given gradually more responsibility in my role which is really helping me to develop in my role. Since September I have also been attending a construction course at a building college allowing me to get a detailed understanding of equipment, process and the different skill need for my future role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?
  • The application process was very simple I filled out the form had a test then went for a meeting. in the meeting I tried to be myself and describe myself as well as I could. I had also practiced with my family beforehand as that was my first interview. I found that the application is one of the most important pasts as this is there first impression of you so I put a lot of thought into how I answered the questions.
