  • 4. How valued do you feel by Network Rail?
  • Sometimes organisation lets the apprenticeship down but as with any big company decision making is slow. The first twenty weeks need adjusting so they are more relevant to the job. but on the whole we are treated very well and it is far better than my last apprenticeship.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This is where improvement could be made as mentioned above. I was the first year of the new apprenticeship so that will get better. Feedback could be much more prevalent and acted upon especially on the Babcock side

  • We receive lots of support

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Now its has moved to six months at depot in the first year there needs to be compensation as it isn't enough to live on and support yourself without using savings but it is better than a lot of apprenticeships

  • 9. Would you recommend Network Rail to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because as a whole it is a very good apprenticeship much better than many and sets you up for a very secure and prosperous future. As with anything improvements could and more than likely will be. I already have recommended a friend who is on the apprenticeship


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Network Rail?
  • Take your time before applying to research the roles on the internet and read around the rail industry make sure it is right for you. brush up on maths before taking the interview tests especially if you left school a while before.
